STAFF EMAIL - FOR YOUR INFORMATION

Published 4 Apr 2013, 9:15 am, by Miara Watson

When you become a new staff member of the university, please note the following:

This means you now have a staff email now which has become your primary /main email account ( its does it automatically) rather than your student one.
Its important to forward your staff email to your student account (if that's what you want) or access your staff email regularly  because important uni related emails will go straight to your staff email.
Also if you stop working for the uni, the staff email access will be cut roughly 6mths after your last pay but some emails will continued to be send to your staff email. If you stop working for the uni, its important to forward your staff email to your student account before the access gets cut.

Staff emails can be accessed a few ways but if you access the:
  1. Home page http://www.griffith.edu.au/
  2. find staff (3rd icon)
  3. hover over to find email (2nd icon)- IT tells me that the login the same your student number and password

Here's how to forward messages automatically in your email.

  1. Click the gear icon  in the upper right, then select Settings.
  2. Click the Forwarding and POP/IMAP tab.
  3. From the first drop-down menu in the "Forwarding" section, select 'Add a Forwarding Address.'
  4. Enter the email address to which you'd like your messages forwarded.
  5. For your security, we'll send a verification to that email address.
  6. Open your forwarding email account, and find the confirmation message from the Gmail team.
  7. Click the verification link in that email.
  8. Back in your Gmail account, select the 'Forward a copy of incoming mail to...' option and select your forwarding address from the drop-down menu.
  9. Select the action you'd like your messages to take from the drop-down menu. You can choose to keep Gmail's copy of the message in your inbox, or you can send it automatically to All Mail or Trash.
  10. Click Save Changes.
