The selection process is highly competitive and Griffith applicants must meet the following criteria:

Must be enrolled in a Griffith program at the time of the internship.
In Semester 1, 2008 applicants must be undertaking or commencing the final year of their Griffith undergraduate program or enrolled in a postgraduate or RHD program in a relevant discipline.
GPA of 5.5 or above.
Eligibility to receive academic credit towards their Griffith program for the internship.
An understanding of and appreciation for the American political process.
Applicants are expected to display exceptional interpersonal skills, resourcefulness and knowledge.
Must be an Australian citizen.
Attendance at a telebriefing conducted by Eric Federing, the UCWIP founder, on 26 April 2007, 11:45am - 1:45pm in G01_2.12 (Gold Coast campus - Business 1) or N54_2.06 (Nathan campus - Bray Centre). NB. You must attend the telebriefing to apply.

The internships are unpaid and the individual cost of internship participation is estimated to be between $9,000 and $13,000 (including visa costs, airfares, accommodation, transportation and personal expenses).
