The United Nations University Office at the United Nations, New York (UNU-ONY) recruits Junior Professional Fellows for two sessions each year running from August to January, and February to July. As an internship program, the "Junior Professional Fellows" reflects the high level of responsibility and opportunity given to those accepted into this programme.

The deadline for applications for the next internship session, running from 1 February to 31 July 2009, is 30 November 2008.

Candidates selected will be informed by the beginning of January 2009.

As a UN agency, the aim of the UNU is to function as a think tank of and for the UN, and to bridge the gap between policy makers and academia. In light of this, the activities of the UNU Office in New York have for a long time centered on event organizing, marketing and fundraising. These responsibility are divided among the Event team, Marketing team and Fundraising team.
