At the time of the 2001 Graduate Destination Survey (compiled by the Graduate Careers Council of Australia), bachelor degree graduates aged less than 25 and in their first full-time employment earned a median annual salary of $35,000. In 2001 graduates earned higher annual median salaries than their 20-24 year old counterparts in the general population, and also had the potential for greater salary increases later in their careers. Overall, the outlook for graduates remains positive, and graduate unemployment rates are also well below that for non-graduates.
