The Workplace Contact List aims to link Griffith University students with professionals who can assist them with information about career & employment issues.

Essentially the Workplace Contact List is a register of experienced professionals from a wide range of fields willing to assist students via one-off short contacts, by phone, email or in person. List members include Griffith alumni and other supporters of the University.

Many students have little experience of professional employment. Having the chance to obtain information about preferred areas of work can make all the difference for you when seeking to establish a career direction. For instance, you can find out about graduate career paths within an organisation or professional field, what a typical day in the workplace entails, employer expectations of graduates, skills and experience required for a particluar field or profession, information about gaining experience through paid or unpaid work, and even referral to other relevant contacts within the field or profession.

To take advantage of this great resource, phone Student Services on your campus, come in and ask at the front counter, or go to the Career & Employment website (see link below). You will need to make an appointment to see the List Administrator, who will give you the Conacts Experience Manual and Kit. You can select up to six contact numbers (but you will only be given one contact detail at a time), the Administrator will explain how the list operates and will give you information including sample questions you may wish to ask your contact.
