Each year, the United Nations Youth Association of Australia facilitates the selection of one young person to become part of Australia's Delegation to the United Nations General Assembly, and applications for the 2008 position have just opened.

The Youth Representative is responsible for representing the views and interests of Australian young people at the United Nations, spending approximately eight weeks as a fully accredited member of the Australian Mission to the UN in New York. They provide youth opinion on resolutions to the General Assembly and formulate new projects for young people around the world, as well as assisting the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade with the Mission's general functioning.

Expressions of interest are open to young Australians between the ages of 15 and 24 and are due by Sunday 4 November 2007.
