Thank you for requesting an Employability Seminar within your course. 

Due to staff availability, we will not be able to respond to you seminar request from 10 December 2025 to 27 January 2026.

NOTE: This form is for T1 2026 (but also including January and February) Career Development Seminar requests.

For T2 2026 seminar requests, we are transitioning to a new process using ServiceNow. This new process is scheduled to be finalised in T1 2026 and we will provide further details once it is ready. You will be able to submit T2 2026 requests through the new system at that time.

Please note that due to the high volume of requests, priority will be given to requests that are formally assessed within curriculum. 

Our Career Development Consultants can discuss with you potential Learning Outcomes, Assessment Rubrics and our online resources (such as those available on the Careers and Employment SharePoint Site) that will complement your lecture and support student learning.

Each of the following seminars are designed by post-graduate qualified career development specialists. All seminars have sample Learning Outcomes, Activities and Assessment ideas for your consideration, and are designed to fit within a 1 hour lecture. These can be adjusted to meet the requirements of your course. Our offering for 2026 has been updated to support Griffith's Academic Plan 2021 -2025 and the Griffith Employability Framework. Should you have a specific request not listed below our Career Development Consultants would be happy to discuss your request and tailor make a seminar to align with your Course Learning Outcomes.
This seminar will equip students to develop a purpose-driven career plan through exploration of their career motivators, influences, interests and values; empowering them to take action to develop their career.
The rapid pace of change in today's labour market can lead to overwhelm, reduce confidence and adversely affect the career progression of students seeking entry into the labour market. This seminar aims to resource participants to build career resilience, so they can continue to thrive in their career development, despite the obstacles they might face.
Students will discover their realised strengths, unrealised strengths, learned behaviours and weaknesses and will learn how to integrate these into their career development. Building self-awareness of these strengths and weaknesses will lead to increased confidence, particularly when communicating with future employers in writing or in person.

This seminar is designed to enable participants reflect on experience to identify current skills, plan for further employment skill development, as well as effective ways to evidence skills to employers
This seminar focuses on mastering the art of written applications, including resumes, cover letters and selection criteria. During this seminar students will learn employer and recruiter expectations and the Australian labour market application processes, allowing them to develop application writing skills and techniques to unlock future job opportunities.

Getting started: Focused on an introduction to the platform and how to build optimised profiles and begin connecting.
This session focuses on how to leverage the functionalities of the platform to build and grow professional networks for career development. (Note: Students should have an established optimised LinkedIn profile prior to attending. Learn techniques to distinguish yourself to a future (prospective) employer. This workshop will cover information on having a professional online presence, effective networking strategies, being ready with your elevator pitch and making an impact in your applications and interview.
In today’s digital age first impressions are made online. They start well before you meet your potential employer and can determine whether your application is progressed to the next stage - simply because of how you present yourself in the online world. Personal branding may sound like a marketing cliché but, it is the first impression the world has of you and indicates who you are and what you stand for. The session aims to help students learn how to start developing their personal brand and create the right first impression.

Job search strategies, developing resilience in your job searching, networking, advertised & hidden job market for paid or unpaid roles.
Generating a graduate career action plan; defining a preferred future as it relates to careers; awareness of the emotions associated with transition and change for graduates. Would suit students in capstone years and those transitioning out of university.
